Yang Villa Create Your Badge***** ***** ***** i have moved to facebook and twitter. my tweets can be followed at yangvilla. ***** ***** ***** the only time i did anything close to a decent self-introduction was coming up with a writeup for our yearbook. it's not much, but it's helpful: Despite his blatant slothfulness, Yang is actually adept at many things. As a member of the UP Debate Society, he represents the university in tournaments in and out of the country. He delights working as a Junior Researcher for IDEA, Inc. because he is a closet nerd. When not busy with out of town lecture and hosting stints, he helps out in film productions. Because of this horribly fast-paced life, Yang relaxes by indulging in his guilty pleasures: taking pictures of his queenly cat Marie Antoinette, posting gossip and filth in Multiply, and watering the plants he nicknamed Ate Guy and Ate Vi. Sometimes he can magically come up with edible stuff by means of cooking, but that’s rare and you shouldn’t bet on it. Yang’s stay in UP has been fun for the most part – except for the time he had to endure humiliation under an ideologically intolerant professor whose ideas conflicted with his. (He eventually dropped this professor’s subject.) His most memorable UP moments include: “breakfast” by the coffee machine at Main Lib, Ma’am Monsod’s final exam, and Sir Orville’s mean comments. Yang’s only regret in his four years of college is that he could have had more friends had he not been terrible with faces and names, and had he been less crass. With his valuable experience and training in Econ, Yang hopes to lead the country to greener pastures. Hopefully by then he’s grown off his penchant for procrastination. ***** ***** ***** hi, my name is christian marx, but you never get to call me that unless you are my mother. i am here and there called yang (Galacgac-Villa, 1989) and you may as well do so provided you make the proper citation. i am currently studying to be an economist. no, wait, i am an economist. economist-in-training? i dunno. there's just one more semester between me and that coveted diploma anyway. whichever way, sucks, because i’m in econ only for the money, although i've been warned there isn't much whichever career path one takes. i come from ilocos norte but that should never be a reason to think i’m kuripot. i’m kuripot for other reasons independent of my place of extraction. obviously i despise typecasting and stereotypes, but if you're lucky you'll catch me being sexist once in a while. I AM NOT A FAN OF CAPITAL LETTERS, unless it's something i really want to emphasize. they say i'm funny when i'm spontaneous but i think that's a horrible lie. yes, i am blatantly crowd charming. i am also amazingly crass, and what does that tell you about charm? ***** ***** ***** i like personality tests. they're fun to take and there's always something surprising from the results (refer to Figure 1 below). for instance, i am 68% perceiving and only 32% judging. my judgment doesn't come quick as lightning after all, who would have thought. i am also 68% thinking, which leaves a meager 32% for feeling -- barely more than what could be said of the tin man. (in a separate personality test i scored something like 16% for agreeableness, setting off a wave of self-pity. the resulting essay from that bout of depression, however, garnered me a 1.00 from my psychology professor.) i am 89% intuitive and 11% sensing. i dont know what this means, but something tells me it's not good to be this much extreme. i can't seem to reconcile the results with 68% perceiving, wtf. finally, i am 84% extrovert and 16% introvert. that much is true.
